Interlex started out back in 1997 with a staff of seven. Today it is one of the largest Estonian translation companies committed to use the expertise of its staff as well as technical applications to provide the best possible service for the client. As of now, our full-time staff has grown to 15 people. Our Tallinn branch employs eight people, there are seven in Tartu plus we outsource from an extensive network of reliable freelance translators, revisers and proofreaders. Since 1999 we have been translating and editing an English-language law journal Juridica International targeting international audiences. You need JavaScript enabled to view it In 2000 we joined, as a founding member, the Association of Estonian Translation Companies (www.etbl.ee). Through the national association we are also represented in the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (www.euatc.org). In 2001 our volumes of technical and medical translations increased considerably. It was also the year when we started using the computer assisted translation tool Trados. Since 2002 we have been providing desktop publishing services. The year 2005 marked the launch of our second office, in the city of Tartu. In October 2006 Interlex became a member of the European translation consortium Eulogia (www.eulogia.eu). With members from 21 European countries, Eulogia is a fast-expanding pan-European consortium of translation companies providing innovative multilingual solutions. Each and every member is committed to providing translation services of optimum quality in virtually all languages of the world. November 2006 ― Interlex purchases, for its Tallinn headquarters, freshly refurbished premises on P.Süda street. The same year, 2006, Interlex joins the Estonian Terminology Society (www.eter.ee) whose goal, among others, is to coordinate the terminology-related work in Estonia. In January 2007, Interlex become a member of the European Language Industry Association ELIA (www-elia-language.org). ELIA is committed to representing the best interests of translation, interpretation and localization companies active in Europe by providing a forum for exchange, fostering the development of business relationships with fellow-members and other related international organizations, and promoting the concept of ethics and quality standards throughout the industry. |
